Most people own TVs that cost more than $350, and they’ll replace them in a few years. A shotgun will outlast you, your children, and maybe your grandchildren. It seems to me a product with that kind of longevity is worth paying a little more for. Years ago, I remember reading an interview with Bill Ruger, in which he said he thought a man should be able to buy a rifle with one week’s pay. I have no idea what one week’s pay is these days, or if that’s a realistic idea. I do know that what this country needs is a good $500 pump gun.
