Few rifles have gained the versatility of function and looks from dozen upon dozens of aftermarket products like the Ruger 10/22. The fact that’s it’s a semiautomatic .22LR makes it easy to modify and fit inside a housing or a chassis, like some of the kits highlighted in this American Classic story we did on the gun.
You can make a Ruger 10/22 look like almost anything, from an MG42 machine gun to an MP5 submachine gun. Now, this new kit from Ravenwood International is offering a chassis for the regular Ruger 10/22 and the Takedown model that shapes it into an MSR.
The polymer and aluminum RW-AR22 has a lifetime warranty and works with any of the standard 10- to 25-round Ruger magazines. The kit includes an aluminum forend, a pistol grip, and a six-position buttstock.
“Our goal was to come in to the 10/22 Takedown accessory market and offer a modern transformation unlike anything else out there,” said a company spokesperson in a post from outdoorwire.com. “This kit offers a complete rifle renovation in one box that the firearm’s owner can complete easily in minutes.”
The kit also adds a two piece, full-length top Picatinny rail allowing for the mounting of optics and accessories and allowing for interchangeability with MSR gear.
Both kits are expected to be available by the end of this year.
Ravenwood is a company that flew under the radar for quite a while, providing private label accessories and products. They’re now marketing their products directly to consumers, according to this post from thefirearmblog.com, after recently debuting a line of about 20 products at the NASGW Show in New Orleans.
