Smith & Wesson is jumping into the introduce-a-new-pistol-before-SHOT-Show pool too, with a stout-looking new rimfire target pistol.
The company dropped photos, specs, and videos for its new SW22 Victory target pistol yesterday, ushering in a new generation of target guns for the company. You can check out the full spec sheet here, but these are the highlights:
It’s a single-action semiautomatic chambered in .22LR with a 10+1 round capacity, a 5.5” barrel, and a green fiber optic sight paired with an adjustable fiber optic rear sight. The grip is contoured polymer that certainly looks comfortable to hold, with cutouts that make it easier to grab the floor plate of the magazine for removal.
The frame, bolt, and barrel are all stainless steel with a satin finish. The SW22 weighs in at 36 oz even and measures 9.2” long and 1.1” wide with a height of 5.6”, and it comes with a 10-round spare magazine.
Some of the noted features include a removable, interchangeable match barrel, an included Picatinny top rail for mounting optics, and an adjustable trigger stop. The whole thing breaks down with one screw.
It’s also available with a threaded barrel ready for suppressor mounting and a protective cap, as well as a camo version.
“The SW22 Victory was designed to fill a need for a highly versatile, accurate and affordable .22 LR target pistol,” said Jan Mladek, General Manager of the S&W brand in this post from ammoland.com. “Whether it is a new shooter learning the fundamentals of handgun marksmanship or the experienced target shooter who is trying to reach the next level of proficiency, the SW22 will deliver many personal victories along with years of shooting enjoyment.”
What perhaps is most attractive about the feature-laden pistol is the price. The SW22 Victory has an MSRP of $409 and is sold with a limited lifetime warranty and a lifetime service policy.
