If high-speed steel is your mom’s thing, get her an Aimpoint Acro P-1 to hammer targets with ease.

Announced at last summer, Aimpoint touts the Acro P-1 as the smallest enclosed reflex sight on the market. Given the diminutive footprint, I’m inclined to agree with them. While the closed emitter red dot system was designed for pistols, it will be at home on ARs or shotguns as well.

Aimpoint subjected the Acro P-1 to a 20,000 round test on a .40 S&W pistol slide before releasing it on the marketplace, so you can be sure mom will get many years of enjoyment out of it. Battery life is one year at a mid-brightness setting, and the red dot sight is waterproof to an impressive to 25 meters. Retail price is $594.

Everyone needs a knife, and mom is no exception. This year, get her one that is at home in the woods as it is in her purse.

Buck updated its timeless 110 Folding Hunter for 2019, giving it a more modern look. The resulting knife is the 110 Slim Knife, Select. In place of wooden scales, the handle has been replaced with easy to clean nylon, in in red, blue, black and easy to find chartreuse. A thumb stud provides one-handed opening, and pocket clip keeps it where she wants it to be.
