Introduced by Glock this year, the G43 is a single-stack 9mm that holds six rounds. Its frame width is just over one inch and the slide width measures only 0.87-inch, according to a company press release. Its overall length is 6.26 inches, which is just a bit longer than the Glock 42, a .380 that measures 5.94 inches. The G42 got a lot press in 2014, but the .380 ACP round is lighter than many shooters want in a self-defense handgun.
The G43 will take Glock into another segment of the concealed-carry market, noted Glock’s vice president Josh Dorsey. “The G43 is the most exciting product release to date because it addresses a variety of issues that many shooters face with pistols in the concealed carry category,” said Dorsey. “It will be the pistol of choice for law enforcement and civilians.”
