This drill is meant to improve your accuracy while moving and is shot at 7 and 12 yards. Set up three targets at 7-foot intervals. Your starting position, with gun holstered, is a couple of feet to the outside of the left-hand target. Draw and engage each target with two rounds while moving laterally toward the farthest right-side target. Then shift to outside of the right-hand target and move to the left side.
Next, start at 7 yards away, facing the center target. Draw and engage each target with two rounds while backing away. Move to 12 yards, then, from the same position, engage each target with two rounds while moving toward it.
You will find that dropping your hips into an exaggerated crouch and sliding your feet across the ground instead of lifting them in large steps will improve speed and accuracy in both drills. Walking fully upright with large steps causes the gun to bounce vertically each time a foot hits the ground. Do a low glide instead of a high stride.
