A Hot New 92: The Beretta 92 Elite LTT

If you're a fan of the Beretta 92 / M9 platform, check this out. Beretta USA has partnered with Langdon Tactical Technology to released a tricked out version of the 9mm pistol that they're calling the Beretta 92 Elite LTT.

According to guns.com, it’s the “ultimate 92 package” using a Vertec/M93A slide paired with an M9A1 frame. That frame also includes an accessory rail with one slot, enough for a small weapon light or laser sight.

The slide has front cocking serrations and a dovetailed fiber optic front sight paired with a square-notch serrated rear sight.

The special model has a 4.7-inch steel-colored barrel with target crown and a solid steel guide rod.

The trigger guard is an exclusive designed with a stainless steel trigger that matches the barrel and gives the gun a great look overall.

The grips are Ultra Thin VZ/LTT G10 panels that sit atop a beveled magazine well and an oversized magazine release button.

The handgun, built in partnership with Ernest Langdon, will come in two options, the story says—the Elite LTT and Elite LTT with LTT trigger job.

Pre-orders can be made through Langdon Tactical now with delivery estimates at 8 to 10 weeks.

The prices are up there, but not out of this world: $999 for the Elite LTT and $1,164 for the model with the tuned trigger.

The Beretta 92 is a series of semi-auto handguns (including the Beretta 96 and Beretta 98) that was designed by the Italian gunmaker in 1972. It has been produced in many variants can calibers and is obviously still in production today. In 1985, the U.S. military replaced the long-serving M1911A1 in .45 ACP with the Beretta 92FS in 9mm, which was designated as the M9.

The M9A1 was adopted by the Marine Corps in 2006, which added a Picatinny accessory rail and other features like a beveled magazine well. The magazines for the M9A1 are coated with physical vapor deposition coatings to help them better withstand the harsh sandy conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The M9A3 was released in 2015, though it was not adopted by the military, which instead held the Modular Handgun System trials, resulting in the adoption of the Sig Sauer P320 9mm pistol as the M17, which is now phasing out the M9s in service.
