Robbers sometimes hold-up businesses with fake guns, and often they’re successful. And sometimes people get hurt or killed over it, but you rarely see a criminal attempt to rob a place with a piece of a gun. In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a man tried to do just that when he walked into a pizza place on Ocean Boulevard Tuesday night, and demanded money from the man behind the counter while pointing a loaded magazine at the employee. Not a loaded gun…just the magazine.
The employee clearly wasn’t fazed, and slapped the magazine out of the suspect’s hands, according to this story from foxcarolina.com.
Police responded to the location at about 10 p.m. and spoke to the employee. He told the police that he saw the suspect and asked if he needed help, and then the suspect pulled out a “magazine for a firearm” and pointed it at the victim, telling him to give over everything he had.
After the victim slapped the magazine away, the suspect grabbed two rounds that fell out of the magazine, turned around, and walked out of the restaurant.
The story doesn’t say if the magazine was from a handgun or a rifle.
