Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. has introduced an update to the 10/22 line that has been popular with shooters for 50 years with the introduction of the 10/22 Compact with Modular Stock System with a stock similar to the one on their 10/22 Takedown Lite model. The new model of America’s favorite .22 rifle retains the familiar semi-auto action and reliable rotary magazine, but adds an adjustable Modular Stock System as well as front and rear fiber optic sights. The modular system allows for length of pull (LOP) adjustment and comb height adjustment.

The LOP starts at only 12.5 inches with a low comb height, meaning the rifle is well suited to training youth shooters and that the gun can be adjusted as they grow. It also means it can be fined tuned to accommodate plinkers of different sizes and statures.

The idea is similar to other low-priced adjustable stocks that offer high-end customization and fit, such as Savage's Accu Fit system. Whereas the Savage system includes separate LOP and comb insterts, the Ruger Modular Stock System keeps the comb and buttpad connected with two pieces that interact to create the adjustments.

The other features that endeared the classic Ruger to the public are still present, such as the push-button, cross-bolt manual safety and a cold hammer-forged barrel. For more information on the new 10/22, visit Ruger.com or Facebook.com/Ruger.
