The folks at Real Avid have a knack for stuffing a whole lot of useful gun tools into one implement that’ll fit in your front pocket. The Gun Tool, for example, which packs 18 of the most frequently used tools for rifles and shotguns in a little an ergonomically shaped multi-tool, has won gun industry awards.
Now Real Avid has a new combination tool for 2015, called The Pistol Tool.
While it may look like a Transformers’ version of a bottle opener, it’s a dedicated range tool. It has enough tools, attachments, and functions to help you accomplish most range maintenance chores.
The new tool includes the expected things, like a bit driver with six different tips including flat head and Phillips screwdrivers, a 3/32-inch hex, and T15 Torx. It has a pin punch sized for a Glock and many other pistol models. It has a non-hardened stainless steel pick and scraper and a Model 1911 bushing wrench for Government and Officer models. It also has some unexpected tools, like a series of four small hex wrenches that are sized for common laser windage and elevation adjustments on scopes. Also, if you get the munchies at those extended range outings, you can slice off hunks of pepperoni with the three-inch knife blade. And it includes a textured end surface designed for hammering. Retail price is $39.99.
