Savage Arms introduced a new line of stripped down bolt action rimfire rifles that are striking to the eye and really solid when you get down to the specs.
The Minimalist rifles combine a handsome laminate stock for strength and a button-rifled barrel along with the company’s excellent user-adjustable Accutrigger to create what promises to be an accurate, great shooting, and hard working rimfire rifle that will be available chambered in .22LR, .22WMR, and 17 HMR.
And they’re so lightweight, you can carry it anywhere for as long as you want.
“Minimalist combines the perfect balance of lightweight ergonomics and reliable performance,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing for Savage. “At just 5.68 pounds, they’re perfect for backyard plinking or hunting on the move. You can carry one all day and hardly feel it.”
The actions on the Minimalist rifles are carbon steel with pre-installed Weaver-style bases for optics.
Additionally, each model features an 18-inch carbon steel matte black sporter contour barrel with a ½-28 threaded barrel (and cap). The Stock comes in a green or brown laminate and the rifle includes a 10-round detachable box magazine.
The Savage Mark II Minimalist is chambered in 22 LR, and other than a curved magazine, it’s the same as the 93 Minimalist and the 93R17 Minimalist, which are chambered in 22 WMR and 17 HMR respectively. You can check out their specs here
All models will be available around Dec. 16 with an MSRP of $359.
