Springfield gives consumers all the reliability of their AR-platform in a more nimble package with the SAINT Edge Pistol. The new hand-held combines the most popular features of Springfield’s top of the line SAINT with the compact shootability of a pistol platform.
At just 24.6 inches with the brace collapsed, and weighing 5 pounds, 11.5 ounces, the compact SAINT Edge Pistol is the perfect companion for personal defense. Despite the smaller wrapper, the 5.56mm SAINT Edge Pistol packs all of the premium features of the full-sized SAINT Edge. The combination of 10.3-inch barrel and Maxim Defense CQB pistol brace provide maximum portability and ease of use in close quarters.
The lightweight lower receiver is machined from 7075 T6 billet aluminum, and compliments the patent-pending full-length free-float handguard. The two halves of the receiver are joined using Springfield’s proprietary Accu-Tite tensioning screw that provides a secure fit between upper and lower, giving the rifle a durable feel and improved accuracy. The trigger guard is also integrated into the receiver, to shed ounces. A mid-size charging handle allows for easy manipulation in any condition.
The lightweight 10.3-inch Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel is Melonite treated inside and out to reduce friction in the bore and lessen surface wear, potentially extending the life of the barrel. A 1-in-8-inch twist rate makes the most out of the limited real estate. The enhanced M16 bolt carrier group is also finished with Melonite and carries a premium 9310 HPT/MPI steel bolt, superior to mil-spec hardware.
Under the handguard, a carbine-length, multi-mode adjustable gas block allows for tuning to specific ammo or suppressor use. The gas block is pinned to the barrel for reliable operation, eliminating the concern of the block will come out of alignment or lose its tune.
The Edge Pistol comes complete with front and rear spring-loaded flip-up sights and a forward hand stop. The rugged Maxim Defense CQB pistol brace stabilizes grip and reduces recoil, enhancing accuracy in one or two-handed operation. The 7075 aluminum-framed brace is four-position adjustable and features integral QD mounting points.
