Does being able to carry the common loadout of a concealed carry pistol with one spare magazines, yet having 39 rounds of 9mm at the ready sound good?
You can do exactly that with the new FN 509 Compact Tactical pistol, which is available with 12- and 15-round standard magazines, as well as 24-round extended mags.
If you desire, you can carry the new 509 CT with a 15-round magazine loaded, and two spare 24-round mags for a whopping total of 63 rounds on board.

FN is calling their new 509 the smallest and most concealable 9mm tactical pistol on the market, and they could be right.
The pistol features a threaded 4.3-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is compatible with muzzle devices like compensators and suppressors, and the slide features the FN Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System, which is capable of accepting more than 10 different miniature red dot sights, making this a truly tactical handgun.

The compact frame has the signature enhanced grip texturing of the FN 509 line and a Picatinny accessory rail under the barrel for lights and lasers. It also features interchangeable backstraps for a customized grip fit.
The suppressor-height night sights help you co-witness a miniature red dot with ease, and when an optic is not in use, the protective cover provides a serrated surface for racking the slide with one hand and ensures iron sight alignment.

The pistol comes with wither a black or Flat Dark Earth frame and ships one magazines of each capacity: 12 rounds, 15 rounds, and 24 rounds. A compliant version is also available that ships with three 10-round magazines for those in states with magazine capacity restrictions.
The 509 has proven to be one of FN’s most solid and dependable pistol platforms with over 1 million rounds fired during its development. It’s a rugged, no nonsense pistol that should translate very well to the concealed carry market with an excellent capacity and versatility.

And the ability to use extended mags with such a high capacity if needed is really only possible with Glocks.
How often will you need to carry 63-round of 9mm on your person? Hopefully you’ll never need to, and most instructors will tell you that the most important reason for carrying spare magazines for self defense is so you can quickly clear a jam and get the gun running again in case of a malfunction, not so you can reload.
If you actually get into a gunfight while carrying concealed for self defense and need to reload, you have found yourself in the worst of worst case scenarios—but at least with these magazine capacity options, you can be prepared for anything.
